Who Are Gaia’s Treasures? Gaia’s Treasures is a natural beauty and gemstone jewellery brand inspired by the connection between nature, beauty, spirituality and everyday life. At Gaia’s Treasures we believe that the things we surround ourselves with can carry meaning. A gemstone can become a reminder of a quality you want to cultivate, a piece of jewellery can mark a new chapter, and a natural beauty ritual can become an expression of self-love and a moment of calm in an otherwise demanding day. Our inspiration comes from the natural world, gemstones and their cultural histories, mysticism, spirituality and travel.  We don’t believe you have to choose between being modern and being connected to ancient traditions. You can wear a gemstone necklace to work, use a botanical oil as part of your evening routine, meditate before an important meeting or simply choose a crystal because you love its colour and natural character. For us, spirituality isn’t about escaping everyday life. Instead, it's about finding meaning within it. The Story Behind Gaia’s Treasures At the heart of the brand is our founder, Dr. Xenia Bakina — an academic, human rights lawyer, mystic, Tarot reader and channeler. Her journey from law and academia to spirituality and entrepreneurship is an important part of the Gaia’s Treasures story. Law and academia appear worlds apart from gemstones, natural beauty and mysticism. But for Xenia, these different parts of her life have always been connected by the same underlying curiosity: an interest in people, meaning, culture and the forces that shape our lives. Long before Gaia’s Treasures existed, Xenia was fascinated by gemstones, healing powers of crystals, essential oils and natural beauty. Her professional life was demanding. Law and academia required long hours, concentration, difficult decisions and the ability to remain composed under pressure. At the same time, she maintained a deep personal interest in spirituality and natural approaches to beauty and wellbeing. She was particularly drawn to simple, recognisable ingredients and traditional beauty practices. During stressful periods, crystals, essential oils, meditation and spiritual practices became part of her personal rituals — not as an escape from ordinary life, but as ways of creating moments of reflection, grounding and inspiration. This became an important part of the philosophy that would eventually become Gaia’s Treasures that natural beauty and meaningful rituals don’t have to be complicated. From Law to Mysticism A major turning point in Xenia’s life came with motherhood. Becoming a mother changed the way she thought about time, work and the kind of life she wanted to create for herself and her family. Eventually, she made the decision to leave her legal and academic career and explore a different path — one that allowed her to bring together her professional experience, lifelong fascination with spirituality and desire to create something of her own. She began working as a Tarot reader, channeler and mystic, but the journey didn’t stop there. The idea for Gaia’s Treasures grew from the same desire for meaningful, beautiful and natural things that had been part of her life for years. Inspired by Africa One of the important chapters in the Gaia’s Treasures story began during a family trip to South Africa, her husband’s country of origin. Africa’s extraordinary relationship with nature and its rich gemstone heritage made a lasting impression. During the journey, Xenia discovered a family-run business specialising in gemstones sourced from across Africa. This immediately resonated and Xenia decided to bring some of these natural treasures to the UK and share their beauty with people who are equally fascinated by gemstones and their stories. Why Gemstones? Humans have been fascinated by gemstones for thousands of years.Different cultures have associated particular stones with qualities such as courage, love, protection, prosperity, intuition, transformation and clarity. The meanings vary between cultures and traditions, and there is no single universal interpretation. That’s part of what makes gemstones so fascinating. At Gaia’s Treasures, we are interested in the history, symbolism, folklore and cultural traditions surrounding gemstones. However, we don’t tell you what a stone must mean. Instead, we invite you to explore its history and symbolism and decide what it means to you. Perhaps you choose an aventurine necklace because you associate it with optimism and abundance. From Gemstones to Natural Beauty The Gaia’s Treasures story continued during a family trip to Morocco. Xenia became fascinated by Moroccan beauty traditions and the country’s long history of using natural ingredients in skincare. Argan oil, rose water, botanical ingredients and traditional beauty rituals reflected many of the principles that had already attracted her to natural beauty. This inspired Gaia’s Treasures to expand beyond jewellery. The brand now explores natural beauty products inspired by traditional ingredients and rituals, including products such as argan oil and rose water. Our aim is not to chase every new beauty trend. Instead, we are interested in natural ingredients and traditions with a history — products that invite you to slow down and make everyday self-care feel a little more meaningful.   Ancient Inspiration, Modern Life Gaia’s Treasures exists somewhere between ancient wisdom and modern life. Our world moves quickly. We work, raise families, build businesses, travel, communicate constantly and navigate increasingly busy lives.
